"Let our advance worrying become advance thinking and planning"
Winston Churchill
This quote / excerpt is by Winston Churchhill from his war planning effort.
Winston Churchhill:
- He is considered by most, an amazing leader - especially under pressure
The big idea here is worrying is a trigger for action, not a crippling emotion
worrying doesn't have to consume time - planning and executing can
worrying in others without action reflects lack of confidence or inexperience.
Here's how this applies to us and project delivery:
- If you're feeling worried, it's time to shift gears to planning and executing
- If you notice worry in your teammates, it's time to get on their team and off their back
So, let's put this into action:
- Start noticing when you start worrying
- Write down what you're worried about
- Start planning to solve the problem or prepare for the outcome that's headed your way
- Execute or support those on your team to get past worry and into action
Oh, and before I forget...
